Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls

I think role models and heroes are really important. And I think it’s particularly important for young girls to have people to look up to and say, "Hey, she did something amazing. I can too." I got the opportunity to create this book with two women at Timbuktu Labs.
Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls is a children's book filled with 100 stories about great women from Elizabeth I to Serena Williams. The book also features portraits by 100 female artists from all over the world.
We launched a Kickstarter to promote the project with an initial goal of $40k.
In the end, we raised over $675k on Kickstarter, $807k on Indiegogo, became the most funded book in crowdsourcing history and a New York Times bestseller.
